The idea

So here's the idea. You already know what matters in your work and your life. The hard part is holding all of it in your head at once: the priorities, the people, the follow-ups, and what you decided last week and why.
This doesn't do the work for you. You do it, with what you know recalled when you ask and the drafting done at AI speed. It's there to make you stronger, not to replace you.
What it sets up
When you finish, you'll have:
- A "Human AI Brain" folder in your Google Drive, with a Notes folder and a Checkpoints folder inside.
- A Contacts sheet for the people who matter, with just the hard facts.
- A Core sheet with four tabs: Projects & Tasks, Status, Decisions and Signals.
- A Now card: a short Google Doc on what matters right now. Your assistant reads it before it answers.
- A Rules doc that says where facts live, and a State doc that tells your assistant whether writes are on or paused.
- Standing instructions that set how your assistant recalls, labels and writes.
- Three skills: Recall, Write-through and Recover.
- Three routines: a weekday morning brief, a weekday evening checkpoint and a Friday weekly review.
Your assistant labels what it tells you: FACT is in your records, INFERENCE is its read, UNKNOWN isn't in your records. When it can't find something solid, it's set up to tell you instead of guessing.

Before you buy: what you need
- Grok Bot access: Premium or higher on The X Subscription ($30/mo as of October 2026; check current pricing). Premium is $30 a month or $300 a year, before tax. Free and Plus don't include Grok Bot. Some older plans also include it.
- The X Subscription is bought separately, directly from X. It isn't included with this guide.
- Routines, skills and connectors draw on your plan's weekly usage. If you go past it, extra usage is paid through your own subscription's top-ups.
- A Google account you own, with Google Drive, Google Sheets and Google Docs. A personal Google account is the easiest choice. A work or school Google Workspace account may need an admin to approve the connection before you can connect it.
- Plan on one uninterrupted sitting.
This guide works with Google Drive, Google Sheets and Google Docs. It doesn't cover other storage services. Prices as of October 2026. Check current pricing before you buy.

Questions
Do I need to write any code?
No. Every setup step is a copy box. You copy the whole box, paste it into your Grok Bot chat as one message, and check what you see against the line under the box.
Is The X Subscription included?
No. You buy it directly from X, and you need Premium or higher. Its billing and refunds are between you and X.
Where does my information live?
Your sheets and docs live in your own Google account. Your assistant's instructions, skills, routines and chat live in your own Grok Bot account. I never log in to your accounts, and I can't see, change or recover anything in them.
Will it do things without asking me?
It's set up to read back what it saves and to ask for your yes before anything goes out under your name or anything external happens. That's a setup, not a guarantee. You can say "pause" anytime and it stops writing to your files until you say "resume."
Can it get things wrong?
Yes. It can misread your files, miss things or state something false with confidence. The FACT, INFERENCE and UNKNOWN labels help, but they don't make it accurate. Check anything important before you rely on it.
Does it work with other storage services?
No. This guide works with Google Drive, Google Sheets and Google Docs. It doesn't cover other storage services. A work or school Google Workspace account may need an admin to approve the connection.
Does the morning brief include my calendar?
Not in this version. The morning brief covers your top priorities, what's due or stale, what changed since yesterday and the decisions waiting on you.
Will the guide be updated when the apps change?
Grok Bot and Google change their apps, and that can break a step. I may fix or update the guide, but updates are at my discretion and none are promised. If a step doesn't work as written, email samestateguide@outlook.com and I'll fix the guide.
